MALAYSIA - Pulau Penang - George Town

George Town is the capital of the state of Penang in Malaysia. Named after Britain's King George III, George Town is located on the north-east corner of Penang Island. It has a population of 720,000 and its inner city was in 2008 inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Georgetown is a bustling, colourful and largely Chinese city, full of tumbledown shophouses, impressive colonial architecture, countless trishaws and hawker food stall on almost every corner.
